Dear Friends,

It’s time for our annual Christmas Party for homeless and underprivileged children!  Kids First of is a non-profit organization which provides opportunity for community links to better enhance the lives of  the underprivileged, underserved and those in need of financial, social, vocational and various other forms of support.  We Do Not Receive any Local, State or Federal Funding.  Kids First has done this event for over 20 years!  Our very small, very grass-roots charity relies solely on donations from friends like you!

Every Christmas, we have a wonderful party for over 300 kids and a group of senior citizens.  The party includes lots of food (generously donated from area restaurants), music, entertainment as well as many, gifts and of course, Santa himself! We ask each child for their individual wishes to make their holiday special.  Some ask only for socks.  These families have no resources to provide the "luxury" of a Christmas with gifts.  Due to our direct relationships with these families, Kids First is able to help children right up until Christmas Day!  Last year, with the help of many generous people, we brought Christmas joy to over 600 kids!  Please know that your participation can help a family right up to the last minute of the holiday season.

We try to give each and every child at least 2 clothing items, a pair of shoes and 2 toy wishes, as these are the only gifts they will receive.  We decorate our space, and then send ALL the decorations home with families to bring the holiday spirit into their homes.  Due to the economy turmoil, this will be a very challenging year for many, as we have had many calls from families in need of food.

Our hope is that you will choose to be a part of this meaningful program.  A donation to help us with gifts and decorations is all we are asking of you.  We will be taking donations at any time, and will be in need of volunteer help all day Saturday, December 13th from 11:30 a.m. until midnight at Sharon Presbyterian Church, 5201 Sharon Rd.

Please consider this request as the children so look forward to the party and these families depend on us.  All tax deductible donations are very appreciated and can be mailed to:  Kids First,  P.O. Box 17028,  Charlotte, N.C.  28227.  Thank you for helping make a difference!

It's that time of the year again!

Our annual Christmas Party for homeless and underprivileged children is only weeks away. Kids First of the Carolinas has been helping children at Christmas for over 20 years. We are DO NOT receive any local, state or federal funding. Our very small, very grass-roots charity relies solely on donations from our community.

The party includes lots of food (generously donated from area restaurants), music, entertainment as well as many, many gifts and of course, Santa, himself. These families have no resources to provide the 'luxury' of a Christmas with gifts. Due to our direct relationships with these families, Kids First is able to help children right up to Christmas Day. Last year, with the help of many generous people,  we brought Christmas joy to over 600 kids! Know that your participation can help a family up to the last minute of the holiday season.

The need is even greater this year. We try to give each child at least 2 clothing items, a pair of shoes and 2 toy wishes as these are the only gifts they will receive. We will be taking donations and needing volunteer help all day Saturday, December 15 from 11:30 am at Sharon Presbyterian Church, 5201 Sharon Rd. Your donation can also be mailed to: Kids First of the Carolinas  P.O. Box 17028, Charlotte, 28227. All donations are tax deductible.
